April 27 - CFD's 45th Annual Spring Gala!

The Spring Gala is a great opportunity to savor the outstanding victories we helped our candidates achieve in 2013, and to share solidarity as we prepare for the significant races to be won in 2014. It is also a highlight of the New York political calendar, where we can break bread and share a moment with the leaders who make us so proud to be Democrats and to work in concert for our progressive values.

Our gala is also an opportunity to honor those who make our city and community a better place. This year, our Outstanding Leadership Award will honor the indefatigable Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer.  Our awards ceremony will also honor the Fast Food Forward Campaign; Joseph A. Fiordaliso, President, District 3 Community Education Council; and Jerry Skurnik, Co-Founder of Prime New York.  We will also surprise one CFD member on that day with the esteemed Ivan Merber Outstanding Member Award.

The gala is at Bella Luna, 584 Columbus Avenue between 88th & 89th Streets, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The regular ticket price is $250 (no listing). Sponsorship categories, which include listing in our formal invitation, are: Angel ($1,500), Benefactor ($500), and Patron ($300).

March 28 - Call Governor Cuomo and Senator Jeff Klein Now!

Dear CFD members

Right now, intense negotiations are happening at the Capitol.  Behind closed doors, the
four men in a room are deciding what will be in the final budget.

The question is, will Governor Cuomo and Senator Jeff Klein deliver on Fair Elections?

They're in the best possible position to win this. The Assembly and Speaker Silver are squarely in our corner. There's no reason for Gov. Cuomo and Sen. Klein to give Senate Republicans veto power.

They need to hear from you right now that anything less than full public funding for all statewide and legislative offices is unacceptable and a failure.

Please join CFD, Citizen Action of New York, and the rest of the Fair Elections coalition in speaking up now!

Call Governor Cuomo at 518.474.8390 and call Senator Klein at 518.455.3595!

Tell them: "Anything less than full public funding for all statewide and legislative offices is unacceptable!"

Then click here to let us know you called!

on behalf of the CFD leadership
